Home Advisor Send you leads, even out of your sevice area, and charge you for them Golden Co

I contacted by Home advisor. They said they could get me alot of work. I asked them how they made their money. They told me that they charge a yearly fee to advertise my company which was $289.00. They asked me for my service area. No additional fee was mentioned. They said they would send me leads or opptunities, as they called them. It would be up to me and the person who filled out a form for an appraisal, whether or not we would work together.

Again, there was no mention that I would be charged for each lead/opportunity. Some of the leads were out of my service area, so I didn't reply, some were in my service area, so I attempted to reach those people,( actually spoke to only 2 of them, although none of them resulted in an appraisal).

When I got my monthly  credit card bill, there was over $200.00 charged to my credit card for leads/opportunities. I contacted my credit card company to stop payments to Home Avdisor. I then called home advisor to see what was going on. I asked what the charges were for and found out from them that they were for the leads/opportunities. I explained that I was not aware that I was charged for each lead they sent. I got nowhere with them.

They told me flatly that they did not give refunds. It just got worse from there. I closed my account, although it took more than one attempt. Said they would send my unpaid account to collections.  That is where we are now.
