I purchased two Ozzi Heat electric heaters on 11/22/2024. The heaters were delivered on 11/29/2024. I opened one of the packages to examine the heater. First thing I noticed was the product contained no indications as to voltage, wattage or amperage of the device and it did not carry any safety certification such as Underwriters Lab (UL) mark or European Union (CE) mark.
I searched the internet with the question: is it legal to sell electrical products in the U.S. without voltage, amperage, wattage markings and certifications. The answer: No, it is not legal to sell electrical products in the U.S. without voltage, amperage, wattage markings and proper certifications, . . . The product carries no such markings. The associated documentation did not provide any such information either. So, having safety concerns, I was not sure I wanted to keep the products.
I searched for Ozziheat returns and found https://ozziheat-us.com/shipping-returns/ website. The information on returns clearly stated that only UNUSED items could be returned so I assumed that I could not plug in the device to test it.
Having no ability to test the device and having no electrical specifications to use in formulas to determine probable function of the device coupled with the safety concerns I decided to return the product.
Following the instructions given on the https://ozziheat-us.com/shipping-returns/ website I contacted the seller to return the product. A history of those activities follow:
Sent an email to info@ozziheat-us.com requesting a return. See the file named OzziHeat 11-29-2024 4.56PM.pdf No response from seller.
Sent an email to info@ozziheat-us.com requesting a return. See the file named OzziHeat 12-04-2024 1.45PM.pdf No response from seller.
Found new email. Sent an email to support@ozzimozzie.co requesting a return. See the file named OzziHeat 12-07-2024 2.28PM.pdf
Received an email from support@ozzimozzie.co asking for details. See the file named OzziHeat 12-07-2024 7.35PM.pdf
Sent an email to support@ozzimozzie.co with details and another request for refund on 12/09/2024. See the file named OzziHeat 12-9-2024 11.52AM .pdf
Received an email from support@ozzimozzie.co apologizing and telling me it is all good and stating no refund. See the file named OzziHeat 12-09-2024 6.36PM.pdf
Sent an email to support@ozzimozzie.co again requesting a return. See OzziHeat 12-10-2024 7.05AM.pdf
Received an email from support@ozzimozzie.co with the return policy of OzziMozzie (not the same as the return policy I had found previously for OzziHeat) and suggesting a 30% refund on my order. See the file named OzziHeat 12-10-2024 7.41PM.pdf
Sent an email to support@ozzimozzie.co explaining certain discrepancies in our ongoing situation and declined their offer of a 30% refund. See the file named OzziHeat 12-11-2024 12.54PM.pdf
Received an email from support@ozzimozzie.co providing an RMA form and instructions for a return. The instructions contained numerous caveats that might (or probably would) disallow a refund. The return to China seemed prohibitively expensive (USPS estimated $65) to return. The package came to me from California so I am unclear as to why it needed to be returned to China. See the file named OzziHeat 12-10-2024 7.41PM.pdf
Based upon the proceedings, I determined the whole deal is a scam, false advertising, possibly fraudulent. Buyer beware!!

I don't get it. Why would you buy some questionable Chinese space heater for $89 when they sell much better ones at any supermarket or hardware store for $20? If you live in Wisconsin, I can tell you for sure that even if you could heat your house with electric space heaters, you'd go broke doing it.
And there is no legal requirement that something be UL listed to be sold in the US. UL is a private company, not a government body. Most companies get their products UL (or other NRTL) certified because it protects them from lawsuits, not because it's required. These guys are based in China, so they couldn't care less about lawsuits.
