Petland John Miller Fraudulently sold a sick and injured dog from a known puppy mill Wichita Kansas

I was assured the toy YorkiePoo I rescued from Petland, Grace, was from a reputable breeder. I requested and was promised they would provide me pictures of her parents. When they quoted $3,500 for the pup I declined. They offered to finance her and I accepted. It was recommended I get a FREE post adoption check at their in house vet, the Wichita Animal Health Center within 4 days; necessary for warranty.

I elected to pay for her check up at my veterinarian where she was diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia and a sprained kneecap. The doctor would not guarantee Grace would live and said she might need hospitalization. Two injections and 14 days of antibiotics as well as anti inflammatory meds got her on track.

Two months later she was back at the vet with another upper respiratory infection. The doctor advised she would be susceptible to pneumonia/infections for the rest of her life because her lungs were compromised.

During this time I investigated her "reputable breeder", John Miller, of Missouri. Numerous unanswered and non-returned phone calls later, I used google earth to locate the listed address. It was a barren road with no sign of buildings.

I reached out to research "Bailing Out Benji" who confirmed the breeder was "one of the worst puppy mills in the country 2020." Petland customer service "solutions.pet" took my concerns to what they termed their "review team" who denied my complaint and request to pay $1,500 for Grace due to her medical issues, deception regarding the breeder, and failure to provide pictures of her parents. I've since filed a dispute with Petland's finance company, Comenity Bank. 

My next step to hold this business accountable for their unconscionable and unethical practice is to contact the Better Business Bureau and Kansas Attorney General as recommended by the folks at Bailing Out Benji. They are interested in shutting these horrifying puppy mills and the business's that support them down and stopping the abuse of pups and their parents.
