On June 17, 2017 my husband and I listened to VIP Travels seminar. With a “spotless” reputation with the BBB, they touted 50% or more savings on travel. After we filled out paper work and gave them our MasterCard but despite more high pressure sales we decided to wait to pay with the MasterCard until we researched it further and left with the travel promos offered to hear their spiel.

We never signed any type of credit card receipt and explicitly told them we would research it first before agreeing to the offer. Our research found many fraud complaints to the BBB about VIP Travel and that the company had aliases that also had many complaints of fraud. One complaint describes the rigamarole of impossible timely tasks to cancel the service if desired that was described as “impossible.” Our research also found the cancellation process impossible.

Further research, bolstered by online complaints, also found the email with all your sign-in information to their online site from VIP Travel was delayed days to thwart any findings of prevarication in their 50% off travel claims before the cancellation period expired. VIP Travel put our credit card through without our approval and the signature on the credit card slip was neither mine or my wife’s. We never signed up for this service and never accessed or used ANY of their services.

When asked by Citibank, during our first calls to them, if we contacted the merchant about the charge we answered, “No, should we?” and Citibank’s response was, “No, we will handle it from here.” We NEVER signed up for the service and NEVER authorized a charge to pay for it. We contacted Citibank about the charge within a day of the seminar which was immediately upon our credit charge findings.

My husband and I reported the fraud to Broward County Sheriff's Office:
