1 Way Photo False Advertising - 1wayphoto.com Internet

Beware on video camera internet purchases. Several websites I contacted recently misrepresented the price and product and only after several phone contacts with each company did I learn the true nature of the product being offered. In the case involving 1 Way Photo, they advertised a a Sony HDR-SR8 High Definition Camcorder for an unbelievable price, which included all the Mfg. accessories, USA warranty, and free shipping. Being vivilant, I contacted a company representative to confim the information on the website, especially the the type of system (NTSC or PAL) to ensure it would be compatable with USA video systems. I not only got clear conformation from the representative I talked with, who was very helpful by the way, but also assurance that the price was correct. So I placed the order over the internet. Later that evening, while confirming my order as requested in an e-mail I received from 1 Way Photo, I decided to reconfirm the order.

And I glad I did. I was told that I would receive the camera only, without on all the mfg. accessories, such as a battery, charger, cables, etc. When I told him of my earlier conversation with a representative to confirm my order as well as the information on the web, he was unable to explain why I was given "false" information and offered to lower their price for the full package, wich was $230 dollars more than I agreed to pay, by $29. I cancelled the order and received confirmation of the cancellation.

So my advice to anyone planning to purchase a camcorder over the intenet is BE VERY CARFUL! Most of the internet companies I contacted with the "best price" were selling PAL system cameras, which only work in Europe, or the camera body only (something that was not mentioned on most websites).
