In my years of use and sobriety one of the most important things that has stuck with me and that you need is strong stability and a strong structure. Anyone with half a brain has the sense to know that a company that is being kicked out of a town and being sued obviously has no structure or stability. In now way in this article am I suggesting that anyone that attend 449 mo longer stays or that anyone who is thinking of attending does not attend, I am just suggesting that ppl research closely where they are and where they choose to get help with their recovery. I personally attended this facility and after being there for a week and half had a slip up in my sobriety. There were many people at the time who were also not doing well and the way the chose to handle the situation was to put me on the street 1 hour after coming clean and admitting my slip up and letting other clients still attend the program with consequences for their actions but not a discharge. I was the only one discharged that day and when I asked why I was the only one, was given no answer. The clinical director stood up and just walked out of the room. (Prob had something to do with her being a young, unqualified, woman who was not an addict and conviently the step daughter of one of the owners.......SHOCKER........keep in that insurance money in the family). I basically begged for help and told them my life was on the line and I just need help. The help they offered consisted of "we will drive you to a safe place with your luggage" that is code for basically, enjoy the outside of the grocery store with all your bags. i was also 3,200 miles from home. I have never in my three years of trying to get clean seen a facility that gives up on a struggling addict and puts them to the curb after a slip up and a beg for help. Keep in mind I also had never broken any rule in that week and a half I attended and was a participating client. My insurance was charged $1, 200 dollars for every time I was told I had to do a urine analysis. I wonder why I had too do them three times a week. I hope everyone does research in looking for an IOP program.
