DO NOT USE 800-PACK-RAT.  I was moving from California to Las Vegas. I decided to use 800-Pack-Rat, because this would save me the trouble of moving everything into storage and then moving it out of storage and driving a u-haul long distance. I packed everything perfectly into two pods. Called them to come pick it up. They say it's too heavy. I just have regular stuff in there. I don't have heavy wood furniture. How can I be overweight??? If my stuff is overweight, then anybody that uses them will be overweight. How can it be over 6000 pounds. No way. The driver said I could take it to a independent weigh station to weight it. How am I suppose to do that. Who am I suppose to hire to do this. Plus, I have to be out of my place in two days. My options were to get an extra pod and storage for 6 months through them or take some stuff out of both pods, and have them pick it up the next day. I had no time, like most people in this situation. But, I refused to let them make more money off me. I took some stuff out and rented storage myself. Ended having to get a small u-haul to make the trip. If I knew this from the beginning. I would just have public storage all of it and moved it all at once with a big u-haul. Yes, I move it into storage and then out of storage, but it would have costed less and less trouble. This is a total scam to get you to get another pod through them, which means more storage charge as well. It would have costed me $2000 to get an extra pod and storage for 6 months. I ended up paying $1400 to move stuff out, store it for 6 months and u-hauling it to vegas. It cost less, and I didn't have to let 800-Pack-Rat make any more money off me. I wasted money on them. I was suppose to get convenience, but I got even more inconvenienced and cost more. I would have saved over $2000, if I just moved everything in storage and then move it again. $2000 plus $1400 that I had to spend extra, that's $3500 total, that I would have saved, if I didn't use them. It was a total nightmare and it costed more.  DO NO USE 800-PACK-RAT.
