I called AAA Van Lines about getting a moving quote. I spoke to Lee, which doesn't work there any more. We went room by room describing the contents. I explained to her that my driveway is sloped, DO NOT SEND A TRUCK UP THE DRIVEWAY.

Moving day, I hear a truck approach my driveway, the first thing they did was DRIVE THE TRUCK UP THE DRIVEWAY. After finding out that the truck COULDN'T BE TURNED AROUND, they attempted to back down, destroying my flower bed and bottoming out the tongue at the road.

Moving was horrible. They didn't use standard moving equipment such as the special dollies. Nothing was strapped down. Movers were running down my driveway with my furniture loosely sitting on a standard dolly.

Several items which should have been better wrapped were not, while a pair of salt and pepper shakers which were made of cardboard were treated with kid gloves.

Several boxes not marked at all with room.

Quote was for $5500 which included fuel and tolls.

Charged 1/2 the amount plus an additional $550 for unknown reasons. The moving coordinator didn't quite explain why.

Moving day I called the company, stated I wanted them to go to the CAT station on Walden Road in Beaumont Texas to weigh the truck. I never got a call from the owner or the truck driver.

I asked the movers if they were prepared to assemble the furniture, his response was that "HE DIDNT HAVE ANY TOOLS". What kind of moving company sends drivers out without tools?

I get a call that the truck driver is sitting in a supermarket parking lot waiting for me to escort them.

Truck driver tells me I have to give him $3700 which was $500 more than the owner said it would be 3 days earlier. This makes the total $7000 vs the $5500 I was quoted.

Movers get to house. Several boxes got wet and were destroyed. Movers were two men with 3 cheap tools they bought on the way to the house.

The younger man got preoccupied with a pit bull puppy that was found running loose. He stated he wanted to keep the puppy since it didnt have a collar. He placed the dog in the cab with no water, on a hot August day.

Meanwhile the move continued. Since many boxes weren't marked they were placed in the den of the house. Furniture was 99% undamaged, fish tank made it o.k.

Movers hinted about a tip, I reluctantly gave the man $100 and fed them also.

The fact that I paid almost $1500 more for the move without so much as an invoice or a weight slip is highly upsetting. I have not ruled out legal action against this scam company.
