I gave them my debit card number with the Visa logo for some rental charges and they went wonky charging my card for all kinds of things and fees.

These were unauthorized charges.

When I talked to the store manager to complain I was told that they would pick up my paid for merchandise.

BE VERY WARY of this company. They DO NOT do the right things.

READ EVERYTHING TAKE NOTHING THEY SAY

AUTHOR: Tim - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Please REALLY read everything they have you sign. Pay no attention to what they tell you at all. I ended up paying more for two 32 inch Sharp TVs than I would have paid for two 60 inch tvs at their own store. And one of the 32 inch was USED and I paid 299 MORE for that one than the one that was brand new.

Typical misleading transaction.

Rent to own/Lease To Own VS Purchase Outright

AUTHOR: Tim - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 14, 2010

I do understand the costs of renting the merchandise. Where I am having a problem is My copies of the contracts are for 12 months which they were up in Sept and Oct respectfully.'

I am trying to reconcile why they would take it upon themselves to either extend the contracts OR exactly what the heck is going on.

I am fairly troubled by the lack of cooperation from the local level and that I would have to call a long distance number to get some help.

I happen to have a severe medical condition now and am not able to get around much. As it is I have had to spend too much time and energy on this. I am trying very hard to give the benefit of the doubt here; but they are NOT making this easy.

I have asked for my records to see if at any time I agreed to an extension?? I am certainly not saying that they are doing any hanky panky. I just want a squared away answer or a refund, after all it would only be right.

As for the non-new "new" laptop, I want my money back and they can pawn this off on someone else as new.

The bottom line is that I want my ownership papers on the 32" TVs and the laptop I recently paid off. My refunds or an adequate proof that I do indeed still owe with my signature on it.

I am trying to keep an open mind but this is just not working out.

Where's your copy of the original contract? It will show the number and amount of payments due for your merchandise. Also your receipts will show how many payments are left on each contract. Yes, the total is more than if you walked into a store to buy it outright but you get the merchandise now without having to wait while you save up for the price.

And so it goes.

AUTHOR: Tim - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, December 13, 2010

After a careful review of all of my receipts and contracts in my possession ; and checking the laws of the State of Ohio - I was overcharged for 2 TV sets by a great deal of money.

In other words, Aaron's had me thinking that I was wrong according to their figures BUT when I compared them with my own notes it didn't pan out and I overpaid.

I have asked twice from my local aaron's for their copies of the contract/receipts to match them to mine and settle this once and for all. NO CONTRACTS even though they said they sent them.

I have very carefully checked this and I simply want to get to the bottom  of this but I am not getting help from the local store and now I wonder why they are stalling.

Then to add insult to injury; the "new" laptop I had rented from them is a used, refurb one and they know I will not accept that.

I want my money back for the over-payment and this non-new laptop.

Just wanted to let you know that you're a stand up guy to post what really happened. Most people in this situation would have just not posted again. Thanks for having class.

Good as it can get.

I was able to get it clear and _I_ did owe the money and _I_ made the error. PLEASE understand that for the most part this company has treated me very good. I was just upset at the amount of charges when I was expecting less.

They are A-OK in my book. I will contact the regional office Monday to explain that this was MY own fault.
