I have been an Aarons customer for some time. We have paid of multiple accounts and purchased new items from them as well. I had purchased/leased a new H.P. Multi-Media Computer from them. When it was having problems, I had to take it up there to be repaired. I was given a loaner computer in the meantime. However, I did not know that Melanie would be dumping my entire computer and brining back down to zero. Dwayne was the former manager and I had no problems with him. I always had to deal with melanie who was an assistant manager. I was beyond infuriated because not only had I lost all of my info, I was not told this was being done.
Now I have 5 payments left and have NEVER used the compact flash drive on the multi media tower until now. I just purchased a DSLR camera that requires a compavt flash drive. When I went to download the pics I found out the drive is broken. I swaped it over to the connector and found out none of the USB ports work on the front. My husband attempted to speak to the new store manager Bill. Trying to reason with him about swapping out the front panels and fixing my computer.
Bill adamently required that I bring my computer in so that they can send it out. Well, sorry this is not going to happen again. I have way too much info on this computer and programs that cost more than the computer itself stored on it. When asked about reducing the price due to the fact that the whole Multi-Media center does not work, we were denied.
Here is my suggestion~go to XXX or XXX instead of Aarons. Not only do they both know what they are talkign about with computers and electronics, you'll get better customer service and you won't have your whole computer dumped by fixing a simple part.

****UPDATE UPDATE ******

Well, I went into Aarons and my parts were in. Well, one of the parts I should say. The General Manager had ordered the incorrect part, so now I still have to wait for my other part. I did however get the CPU fan which was a good thing because my tower was about to overheat.
So now, I have to wait until next Monday, the 23rd to have the GM come back from vacation to order my correct part. I was nice enough to write everything down and draw him a diagram of excatly what I needed. Should not have had to do this, however...I will still have to wait regardless.

Update Update: Status as of Monday, March 3rd, 2008:
I went into Aarons to pay my monthly bill and the manager Bill ignored me. He commented to my husband that RipOff report had contacted him and he was not happy. Who cares...honestly...I am not happy that I am paying for a computer that does not work! My husband in the meantime had spoken to the distric GM Dwayne and Dwayne had given Bill the go ahead to order the parts as we had requested instead of bringing the computer in.
My husband wrote down the applicable parts and info again for Bill to order, whether or not this is done will be seen in the next 4 weeks. But I honestly have not gotten a response or an apology. And my response to him for filing this, You should have fixed it well before I had to file this and contact anyone else.
Aarons has until March 30th, 2008 to fix the problem or I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau.

Simple Solution: BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER!!
AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

You are SUPPOSED to BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER on a regular basis.... like... every week.
Otherwise, what would you do if your hard drive grenades? Cry?
When you had taken your computer in for repair, for some reason they had to REFORMAT your disk. Maybe they had to install a NEW hard disk. Who konws.
Anyway, the solution to your problem is ALSO "required standard maintanence": BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER ! Then if your computer must be reformatted or if it suffers some other irrecoverable failure, you can reload your hard drive and pick up from your last backup.
B/t/w since nice desktops can be had for less than $500 and nice laptops can be had for less than $1000, why do you rent-to-own? That is an awfully expensive way to buy something.
