abcmouse.com Age of Learning, Inc. I was defrauded by a third party who opened an account with abcmouse.com using my banking information. I was promised a refund and many, many weeks later there's nothing. Glendale California

I realized there was a recurring $7.95 charge on my bank account every month for the last several months. Due to the low amount it did not grab my attention earlier. When I checked, I realized it was a subscription to some sort of children's educational website called "abcmouse.com." I contacted my bank and immediately filed a fraud report and later contacted the company who refused to provide me any details. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau and the company responded with no informaiton about just exactly who transacted the fraudulent account and told me to deal with my bank, but acknowledged I had been defrauded.
My bank told me to get a refund from the company as their security system is sub-standard, allowing just about anyone to open an account without proper verifications, emails, acountability, etc. After multiple complaints and phone calls, the company contacted me and told me that they wanted to send me a check to refund the total of what had been charged to date. It's not a lot, but it's the principle and it's a lot of money for me. Total is approximately $47. That phone call was a month ago. Since then, I've sent them multiple emails and called them and every time they tell me they will send me a check and even got my physical home address (which I regret giving them). Now they are ignoring me.
This company does a lot of buisness with school districts. They are suppose to be child oriented and trustworthy. My experience with them has been horrible. I never signed up for an account. Why are they doing this to me? I want to make sure they don't do this to anyone else. I'm not surpirsed at all that others have complained about being charged extra when there was suppose to be a "free trial" period. Con artists. Probably just a ploy to suck you in and then you're done because now they have your credit card number and they can easily just ignore you. Shameful.
