To the unfortunate victim of Accountnow Visa:

I am so sorry that you are having this horrible experience dealing with them.  I personally have been had one of their cards of some nature for about 4 years and have been blessed to have nothing negative go on with my account.

I applaud your courage and determination dealing with this matter.  Do not let them get away with disrespecting you and your money in that manner.  I do have a small suggestion, if you have not already reported them to the Better Business Bureau in you area, then do so.  I had a similar incident with a magazine clearing house charging my card continuously after my subscriptions had been paid for as well as ended.  The BBB took my complaint to heart and resolved it for me.  I got all the money back I had paid the magazine company, an apology in writing and free magazines of my choice for 2 years.

Also try the FDIC and the Department of Justice consumer fraud division.

I would like to express my great fustration with this company!!!  I'm not sure who possibly felt love for this company but I wish I would have thought tripple time before opening an account with them and linking the account information to my tax returns.  

I was approved for an Account Now Mastercard which I wanted to utilize for both my state and federal refunds.  I received my card by mail and activated it on the day it arrived.  I checked my account periodically for any deposits so I know that my account was in good standing with no issues until today.  The IRS deposited my refund as indicated on the Where's My Refund website.  Account Now suspended my account advising that they received my refund, however, I now needed to send them a copy of my social, driver's liscense, utility bill and w2 filed for my taxes.  I immediately called Account Now per none of this was requested upon my opening an account with them.  I had no problem providing this information but upon speaking with the representative, I was informed that my account was not suspended but closed and that my refund had been rejected.  WHAT?????!!!!  No one was able to give me a valid reason why a decision to close my account and reject my refund was made.  Now, even though I can provide this bank with the documents they advised they would need to release my funds, my funds are gone and I'm stuck in the pool of waiting for the refund to go back to the bank to go back to the IRS to wait for the IRS to reprocess and sit it to me by mail.  Another month at the least!!!'

I don't understand how this can be acceptable.  The only reason why I chose Account Now was for the marketing information on their website.  They intice you to utilize their company for the purpose of getting your refund faster but then jerk you around so that in all actuality it would been faster to receive a paper check from the IRS from the start. 

I'm so upset right now!!!  This has placed me in financial hardship and for the life of me I can not begin to understand how they can get away with this.  For all the loyal Account Now consumers, great for you!!!  However, upon my investigation, I'm not the only consumer this has happened to this tax season!!  Several people are getting rejected on their returns AFTER they were advised they were approved with a valid account which was linked to their return when it was submitted.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!  BEWARE!!!!

I am sorry to hear of the hardships. I have never had any problems with this bank/prepaidcard company at all. I have had these account almost 2 years now. I have had a few payment issues, double pmt from a purchase I made and when I called I was freaking out about the double pmt and that I needed the money back. They said don't worry and we reversed the 2nd pmt and the money will be back in your account in a 20 minutes. I was shocked.

And I always was robbed blind by other traditional banks in ridiculous fees. God forbid you make a mistake with other banks! I was hopeless in debt with Insufficient fund fees at like 34 dollars each. You all know,...you spend $2.00 more than what you recorded and live paycheck to paycheck. because of 2 bucks like 5 other transactions go crashing down like rain in overdraft fees.

Account now is great cause when your money is gone its gone. when there is zero dollars in your accountnowvisa and a long forgotten charge of the $5.00 crap fundraiser cookie or girlscout stuff you managed to sign up for comes in, they reject it and NO FEES. I hated that with traditional banks If you forgot the $5 charge....oh the gracious bank has covered it for you but you have a $35 overdraft fee. Congratulations you just managed to buy a $40 box of cookies!
