ACER Computers Provided an exceedingly poor quality product and even worse Customer support San Jose California

The ACER Travelmate 244x notebook computer system (and I use the term very loosly) I received as part of a home based business and distributed by Specialty Merchandise Corp. is of exceedingly poor quality and, even though ACER's sorry a*s web site recommend the use of Windows XP Professional, my system was shipped with Windows XP Home. (To run a 'professional' business. Go figure) The ATI Radeon Express 200M video card, according to Microsoft, causes the computer to repeated crash, freeze, and/or reboot. The longer the unit is on, the more frequently it happens.

Despite downloading and installing the recommended patch for this error and setting the display settings according to the recommendations, no perceivable difference was discernable and after repeated calls, e mails to ACER and SMC the problem still exists. This is due in part to very poor customer support/service from/by SMC (1 returned call out of approximately 10 and one answered email out of eight.) and even worse customer support/service from/by ACER. (Of eight calls, I have never been able to get through on the customer service phone line and an email has never been answered by them. Not once.)

I have never been treated so reprehensibly by an organization in my entire life. Much less by a company that is ( obviously fradulently) reported, on the internet, to be among the top five companies to do business with. What a joke! Someone from that shady, Mickey Mouse outfit was either paying, or blowing or both to get that rating. Absolutely pathetic. You could scarcely pay me to take a piece of crap ACER computer and if you are offered one, I would say turn and run in the opposite direction. ACER YOU SUCK!
