I've been a customer with AdoreMe for about 6 months. It's an online lingerie company with a subscription service, so they automatically take money from your bank account if you haven't opted to skip the month (I used a debit card for all my transactions). For the month of October, I chose to skip, because I didn't have enough money to budget $40 for bras/underwear. September's order, though, was too small and they sent me the wrong items, so I went through with an exchange, which they promote as completely free. I sent back the original order and got my exchange set. On October 20th, I noticed a strange, pending charge from AdoreMe in my bank account for $34.95. I knew this must be a mistake so I waited a couple days for it to disappear. After it did not, I reached out to AdoreMe's phone support. I called their line 12 times, never spoke to a real person, and altogether waited 100 minutes for someone to pick up the phone. I emailed them twice before I got a response. The lack of emails? A lame excuse that there was something wrong with their system. After talking to Andreea, their customer service rep, she informed me that the charge was on me, for not sending back exactly what I had ordered. I responded immediately to this email, asking for her to explain how it's possible I could be penalized for their mistakes (wrong size, wrong items). Andreea never responded. I know $35 isn't that much, but I don't have very much money. I'm working two parttime jobs and going to college full time. According to my research on Twitter, this isn't the first time AdoreMe customers have been hit with fraudulent charges.
