Advance Marketing ripoff has not sent information I paid for Troy Michigan

I had answered an ad in the newspaper for Medical ID assemblers and received that package. Shortly afterward I received a flyer from Advance Marketing about assembling Birthstone Babies - apparently they had gotten my address from the Medical ID place and sent me their information. It seemed to be a good deal, assembling Birthstone Babies. Their big come-on was that they "did not require a deposit like most other companies" but then they turned around and said that once I had sent them 10 assembled Birthstone Babies, assembled according to their instructions and standards I would be reimbursed my initial deposit of$19.95 (this is the full price less shipping and handling). At the bottom of the flyer/newsletter it stated - "YOUR ORDER WILL BE PROCESSED THE SAME DAY WE GET IT AND HAVE IT OUT TO YOU IN A FEW DAYS FROM NOW". So on April 4, 2004, I purchased postal money order #06112394460 in the amount of $23.95 and mailed to the listed address in Troy, MI.

After a couple of weeks I called directory assistance in Troy, Michigan, was given a phone number by the operator. I called the phone number and was advised that it wasn't the phone number for Advance Marketing but she gave me another phone number (248-879-2860) which I called. The number rang incessantly and finally an automated male's voice came on and stated to leave my name and number and to this date I have not heard anything from them.

I don't know what else to do. My mother is helping me with this and she will do anything suggested to be done via internet to get this issue resolved. These kinds of companies prey on naive people who want to honestly make a living working at home so they can be at home with their children and not have the expense of daycare.
