ADVANTA BANK CORP Credit card Salt Lake City Utah

I have been a customer with Advanta for several years now without any problems. I have excellent credit and pay all of my credit cards on time. My FICO score is over 700+. I had a 0% interest rate with advanta. The rate expired and went to 7.99%. The interest was only like $20 so I wasn't too concerned, I was goint to pay if off anyway.

I recently looked at my interest rate and it went to 31.31%. I couldn't believe it. I called the customer service number and I asked why my interest rate went to 31.31% They told me that it was because of a number of factors. When I asked which factors they wouldn't tell me.

So I immedially asked for a pay off balance and told them to close my account. They told me the amount and I sent in the full payment. I looked online and my account went to 0 and when I called back they told me my account was closed.

I checked online to make sure it was still at 0 and now I had $69 in finance charges.

I again called up and told them that I had asked for a payoff balance and that my account should be $0.

They told me that they were additional financing charges. I asked to have them adjusted and they told me no.

They said if I didn't pay them my account would be in default and that I would be charged a late fee and my interest would be raised again.

I have since contacted my attorney generals office, the FTC and the FDIC and Consumer affairs in Utah. The woman their tells me that utah has no ussury laws and that they can charge whatever rate of interest they like.

She went on to say that they recieve numerous complants against Advanta and they con't do anything about it.

THIS COMPANY IS PURE EVIL AND NEED TO BE SUED!
