AFNI Ripoff Posted Negative Item to credit report without sending me anything prior Bloomington Illinois

I pulled a copy of my Experian credit report, since we are in the process of purchasing a house. I noticed an entry by someone called AFNI, Inc. as a creditor for Verizon.

I have not contacted them until tonight, when I sent a note via their website. Tomorrow I am mailing out a certified letter challenging their debt. In April, when I originally noticed the entry, I disputed it with Experian, but they now show the debt as "verified".

I am frustrated that they did this, and I fear that it is going to cost us money we can't afford to get this straightened out. I am hopping mad. I have never done business with Verizon.

This is really irritating. I have filed a online complaint with the FTC, but I can't do the same with the AZ Atty General since no monies changed hands. I have to call them and find out what I can do through them.
