I fell in a hole in the parking lot on their property..was told by "Joe Sullivan" @ Corporate, no need to retain an attorney, our insurance will take care of this.
That was on April 17th,2002 and today is June 7, 2003...It hasn't happened. All I get is "ugly" messages from the insurance company-Cambridge Integrated Services. The adjuster "Robert Faison" lies!! In fact, they ALL do!!
I lost my job, had to put down my dog of 10 years, and was evicted. Everyone, please do yourself a favor, don't ever live on a property of Aimco's. They don't care! They were also sued a year or 2 before this..same situation, different complex! Wouldn't a Judge be interested in this?!

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds
AIMCO is run like a criminal gang ..blowing the whistle
AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

I worked in maintenance. Then I was fired from AIMCO when I wrote a letter "blowing the whistle" on a fake lead paint abatement course and test taken, (in Plainsboro, NJ;) as part of a settlement AIMCO made with the EPA. We were given the answers to the test and each of us took a wrong answer to appear legit for the EPA...When I questioned my boss about this procedure, he said "We'll just lie..." I was fired soon after.
Then I formed a tenants' organization, (TRAIN) to expose their business practices. Several of the members were sent eviction notices for "leafleting", when we asked our neighbors to come to a meeting.
We got the ACLU to back our case for free speech, backed them down and have won every fight since.
AIMCO is a paper tiger because so much of how they do their business is quasi-legal at best.
Recently they were forced to cease signing leases in Plainsboro because they had unlicensed people to sign hundreds of leases over the years... RICO statutes should apply in any case brought against them...

#2 Consumer Suggestion
Get an attorney now.

Marcie,
Typically when a landlord or property owner covers an injury the injured party provides all of the medical bills to the landlords insurance company. Im not surprised that the bills have not been covered yet because it takes time for the adjustor to review the bills. It takes even more time if you are claiming extensive damage and have submitted feel good bills like massages, questionable physical therapy, and things like reimbursement for missed work.
I suggest you get an attorney right now. The attorney will get some of your money, but they handle all of the headache work that will save you all sorts of frustration and anxiety. So its well worth the expense. A judge would not be interested in your situation because they mediate and referee trials.
Dont wait another moment.
Good Luck!

A bad country song?

I was with you until you claimed that your dog being euthanized was part of your complaint. What, if anything, does that have to do with you tripping in a hole?
Furthermore, you didn't state much detail, but landlords can't evict you because you try to collect on insurance claims? Did you forget to pay your rent, too? If you fell in the hole in April, and let's just say you couldn't pay your rent from them on, that only makes for two months of non-rent payment... a judge can't even issue an order of eviction that fast.
Something doesn't add up here.
