AIU Online (American Intercontinental University) Would not advise attending this school Hoffman Estates Illinois

I am having a very difficult time with AIU- I did receive my associates degree from them with a few minor issues along the way - however

I started my Bachelors Degree and had a terrible time with my instructor on the first assignment, she gave me a failing grade because I turned my assignment in using power point, which she had approved and it was recorded in a class chat.

I was on tuition reimbursement from my employer and when I received this grade, it would be difficult to recover to make the grade to be reimbursed - so I contacted several people, to this day NO ONE from the college ever returned my call concerning the fact that I wanted to challenge the grade (4 month later)-

Long story short - I was advised by my 'Senior Admissions Specialist' that if I dropped the class by 5:00 on that day (the day I received the failing grade - the 9th day of class) that I would be cleared of any payment - meaning I could drop the class and there would be no charge. RELIEVED - that is what I done

Thinking after this conversation that I was no longer enrolled - he sent me the pre paid postage sheet to return my books and everything! Well, to my surprise, a month later they were calling me to ask why I had not been in my second class. The guy NEVER started the 'un-enrollment' process!! Now the university has informed me that if I do not pay $2744.00 that they will turn me over to a collection agency and ruin my credit (I have perfect credit)

They called me the day before Christmas Eve and told me that they would reduce the charge to 1500.00 if I would pay it in the next 8 days. I could not do that and told them that I could pay them half of the 1500.00 - I have not heard from them since that day. Have also left several messages

Now I can not get anyone to return my calls - I can not even get logged on to the site to pay a bill - even if I wanted to! This has been just a horrible ordeal- it is worrying me sick! But AIU is unwilling to admit that I was given false information about dropping the class and will take no responsibility for the guy lying to me. I am sad to see that I am not the only one. UNORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL and in my situation UNETHICAL
