I walked into Alfred Angelo's September 30th to look at some bridesmaids dresses so I can decide what my attendants will wear. I brought my fiance along so he can give his opinion because this wasnt my dress I went to look at.I was waiting about 15 minutes while 3 sales people helped this one bride select 1 color for her bridesmaid dresses. I finally decide to ask if anyone could help me, one of them finally did help me and she was a nice lady.I made a few selections and went in to the dressing room. This dressing room waiting area has sofas where people waiting for you can sit down. There about 6 private dressing rooms where a person can change with closed doors and there are even locks for extra privacy. I tried on the dress and came out to the waiting area and as soon as I walk out that little dressing room this sales lady comes up to me and tells me to go out on store floor and show my fiance the dress there because there are women unzipping at the waiting area.First of all these so called respectable women come into Bridal shops the mayority of the time wearing daisy dukes, halter tops and flip flops and with a dress zipped half way down their back they look way more covered up than how they came in the store. As soon as she told me that I took of the dress and as I was walking out my sales lady asked me what happened I told her I was done and I overheard the lady that kicked me out tell her she didnt like the she talked to me.Its not right to kick someone out of a dressing area and if that isnt enough treat their fiance like some d**n pervert off the street.I will never step foot into this shop or any alfred angelo again!

That's the rules

Every bridal shop I've ever been in has the same rules, no men allowed in the changing areas. The majority of the time, only women are shopping for the girls' dresses. I can pretty much guarantee any other shop you visit will have the same rule.
I guess I'm just a little confused also on why you were trying on a Bridesmaid dress anyway. If you're not wearing it, what's it matter what it looks like on you? You can tell the color and style just fine on the hanger.

They asked you to leave the dressing room because a male figure was in there with you and there were other women in there trying to change, etc. Why would you expect other women to change in front of your man? Yes, there is a sofa for people to sit, but who expects MEN to be there? There are women in all states of undress there, swapping in and out of clothes, why is your "man" even in that room? You are completely wrong. The fact that you claim this is "racist" shows exactly how this claim is thrown about with no basis all the time and is an excuse. These ladies did NOTHING to make you think they were racist, but because you were asked to do something you didn't like it MUST be because of race. Wrong. It was out of courtesy for their other customers and I applaud them for it.
