I knowingly had a bill that was $600 or maybe a little more. I paid $300 when it was shut off and they refused to cut it back on. So I waited until I could get some spare money and was very excited to try to get my phone cut back on.
When I arrived to pay $220 I turned to look on the screen to find out that they were charging me while my phone was still off and I still couldn't get it cut back on until I pay $900 and some odd dollars. That is so ridiculous for the company to benefit from that cell phone and I got nothing out of the deal but a bad rep on the bureau that is so unfair. It made no sense for the company to even shut off my phone if they were going to charge me any way. Ya feel me! FOR EVERYONE OUT THERE PLEASE DON'T DEAL WITH ALLTEL IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!

Sorry to hear you feel you were ripped off by Alltel. However, you signed a contract stating in full on the back that Alltel reserves the right to suspend service if the account goes into a past due status. Yes you will still be billed during this time as Alltel didn't ask you to not pay your bill.
FOr example...if you purchase a car and for some reason it dies on you...you still have to make the payments. I hardly see how it's fair that Alltel is the one at fault when you didn't make your payments. I would suggest calling the Financial Department to have payment arrangements set up. If the payment arrangements are satisfactory to pay off the balance, they will restore your service.
Good luck to you!!
