Alpine Loan Centers Mountain Loan Centers Randy, floor supervisor - Utah I obtained a loan from Alpine Loan Centers in Boise, Idaho, but unfortunately lost my job the beginning of May. Although I am receiving unemployment compensation, $300 per week only goes so far when one has a house payment, car payment, utility bills, car insurance, etc. I contacted Alpine to let them know the situation and have been trying to keep current on my payments. This last week, I was unable to make a payment and immediately called to update Alpine on the situation. Today, I was told in no uncertain terms that they will no longer work with me because I hung up on the little snot, Randy, when he got threatening about making a payment this week and how much it needed to be. Randy called me right back and then proceeded to lecture me about being rude and that he had put a note in my file stating they will no longer work with me on this debt and that I had better have the payment in by Thursday or else. St. George, UT Utah

I obtained a loan through Alpine Loan Centers in Boise, Idaho. This company is headquartered in Utah and, if you are late on a payment or cannot make a payment the Utah office calls you. I lost my job and, although I am receiving unemployment, $300 doesn't go very far per week when you have a house payment, car payment, utility bills, etc. When it became apparent I wasn't going to be able to make a payment, I contacted Alpine's Utah office to explain the situation. At first, they were helpful. However, last week I missed a payment (they said that payment would have brought my account current) because I just didn't have the money...had to pay the utility bills and buy groceries...today, I received asking when I would be making another payment, to which I replied it would be Saturday, but that all I could afford was a lesser amount than they wanted. The floor supervisor, Randy, came on the line and stated that I needed to make a higher payment by Thursday. I tried to remain calm and explained the situation to him, but things just escalated on his end and he became very threatening. I finally got so angry that I said, "Fine" (as in fine, I understand you and will make the payment) and hung up. Randy immediately called me back and proceeded to lecture me on being rude and that he had inserted a note into my file that no one at the company would "work with me" any longer and that I better get the payment in by Thursday of this week or else. Lesson learned...never again will I borrow money from this company. They are the worst! They are the ONLY company who is not understanding or helpful. I can only do what I can do. I cannot make myself any clearer. I guess if they file a lawsuit, so be it. DON'T BORROW FROM THIS COMPANY EVER!!!!!

I think this rebuttal is clearly from someone employed by this company as I know they are now having to pay companies and individuals to "Clean up" their reputation online since people are now speaking out against them. As a former employee, I can tell you, that this companies sole goal is to make money. Yes, I do understand it's a business,.. however, when you lose your compassion for the all mighty dollar then after a while you will be just another low life loan company. Sadly if you worked for this company you too would understand that it treats its employee's the same. To say that ALL LOAN companies are like this is FALSE!! I have been in situations where money ran tight and I too lost my job, luckily the company I went through was willing to work with me and still treat me like a human being. I have been appauled by how Mountain Loan Center/ Alpine Loan Center allows it's employees and managers to speak to their customers. I've witness the owner himself get in yelling/swearing altercations with customers. How is that for professionalism?? They couldn't employ enough people in the world to clean up their reputation as their turn over rate is ridiculous and they garnish 8 out of 10 of their employees. If you read through the Rip-Off Reports you will see that they actually pay people to stalk you using social media.
Sadly I expect yet another rebutal from this company,... if you read the one before and see the manner in which it's written you can understand why I no longer am with this company and why so many people from Mountain Loan Centers and Alpine Loan Centers are speaking out.

While its understandable that you are unemployed, it STILL doesn't change the FACT that you have a loan out and THEY want their money. Yes, WE ALL UNDERSTAND that you cannot get blood from a stone. But THAT is a YOU problem. These are YOUR finances and it is NOT their place or responsibility to manage YOUR money. It IS however their place to demand payment. YOU went to them with your hand out begging for a loan and they were good enough to give it to YOU when you needed it. All they ask of you is that since THEY gave you the money, is that you make your payments on time. Given that YOU need them to "work with you" this tells everyone that you are late more often then not. Why else would you need them to "work with you". In the paperwork that YOU signed for the loan you agreed that YOU would make your payments ontime. No where in that paperwork is there a "work with me" clause to that contract. YOU have to stop and THINK!!!! How many other people who they have loaned out money to are pulling the EXACT same ploy. Oh boohoo I don't have any money, work with me pls!!! All the while people like YOU are getting to skip out on a payment. This affects these peoples PAYCHECK!!!! Wouldn't YOU be a bit rude to someone who YOU loaned money to and is now screwing around. YOU would and YOU know it. These people make part of their money on how many customers pay back what they owe for that week. So when YOU stiff the company, YOU are stiffing the employees who work for a living. NONE OF YOUR FINANCIAL ISSUES IS THE FAULT OF THE LOAN CENTER!!!!! Stop playing the victim because YOU haven't been ripped off or victimized. Its the other way around. Because YOU cant afford to make a payment you are screwing them out of their money. There are many things you could do without in your daily life in order to make payments. Do you smoke? If so, then I suggest that you quit or cut back. Skip meals if needed. Find ways to cut your expenses so you end up with more money so you can make your payments. THAT is the ONLY WAY your going to get out from underneath this loan. Pay it off and just don't borrow money in the future because they WILL want it back. Or borrow from friends and family. Atleast THEY wont sue you for breach of contract. FAMILY will more often then not "work with you". This ENTIRE situation is your own fault and YOU need to accept it as such. Yes you lost your job, but you are STILL receiving money. This means that you are probably living beyond your means if you cannot pay bills. Try making a financial budget and strictly follow that budget. Many times just changing WHEN and WHAT you eat can give you so much extra money. I found that I could save roughly $50 a week by NOT buying a lunch. I "brown bag" it or I have a "liquid" lunch of Vega table juice. It doesn't fill you up like food will, but it will give you food energy and a few of your vegetable servings for the day. I can take a $2.00 jug of vegetable juice and make it last for 3 lunches. I prepare it ahead of time and put it in the fridge and in the morning I grab it and have SOMETHING to put on my stomach. I also switched to Ramen Noodles as a DINNER!!! 2 packs of ramen is $0.50. Add a sammich and viola!! Dinner. As I said, there are MANY ways you can cut your expenses and come out on top. Making a FAKE report because THEY wish to be paid IS NOT one of the approved ways to save up cash. All you have done is burn a bridge that you DESPERATLY needed. And it doesn't matter WHICH loan company you go through.....THEY ALL WANT TO BE PAID!!!!
