America home shield AHS would not pay in full for replacement furnace.

I think American home shield is a rip off they are very mis leading.

We just closed on a used home 10/18/21 on around 11/5/21 our furnace stopped working in the middle of the night, we woke up to a freezing home, we immediately called AHS they sent a technician over within the next day or, so my wife was there to greet him. He did fix the unit we had heat again and paid him $100 service fee. I don't recall the name of the co. The technician went on to explain to my wife the unit is pretty old may need to be replaced, and that AHS will only try to patch it up as much as possible.

On 01/06/22 our furnace went out again all that week the high temp was 21 degrees f and 9 degrees f low.  We immediately called AHS again they couldn't get anyone to us until Monday the 10th four days later, the temp has gotten down to single digits. This time it was different co. He looked at it and said he couldn't fix it and he had to order a part.  Afterwards I called AHS to ask why did the send a different co. and should that still be under warranty from the last visit, she replied no because it`s been over 60 days. So, they couldn`t get the part because its obsolete so they now must replace the furnace. The two options I have (1) letting that co fix it with $1825 out of pocket fee, or (2) I find my own contractor and they will reimburse me $700. 

And they don`t pay for modifications

I feel they are mis leading because all the modifications listed here should be included in the replacement of the furnace and bringing it up to code. They should pay the additional fee.

I thought the warranty company is supposed to give you a piece of mind and keep you from paying high repair bills.  I was so wrong about this company. I never want to deal with them again.
