American Van Lines East jacked up moving price Sarasota Nationwide

I move on a regular basis. locally, out of state and overseas. It is safe to say I use a lot of moving companies.I always give a moving company a detailed list of each item that has to be moved including size and weight. Then I ask for a quote based on the information I gave them. With the last move I made, this company and another both did the exact same thing in Sarasota County Florida. American van lines gave me a quote for my move. When they got to my house the moving foreman raised the  price up over twice the amount originaly quoted. After much conversation with the origional sales staff I decided toI refuse their service based on the price hike and sent them away. They charge my credit card over 500 dollars for breaking the contract. I was unable to get my credit card to delete it. I will have to pursue legal means to get my money back. The interesting thing is I had just had a similar situation happened two days before and I sent another company home for the same reason and after speaking to the sales staff at American Van Lines East they assured me that the quote that they gave me was on the money and there would be no adjustment. All the personal assurance from the manager didn't make a difference. I did work with another local moving company in Sarasota that made the move for exactly what they quoted the following day with 24 hours notice.  The move cost me exactly what I was quoted and was  identical to the origional price I was given by American Van Lines East.  It seems like American van lines east makes a regular habit of this practice.
