Their estimating system is way off. I detailed the items I had and discussed them at length with James. James was very nice and quoted me a reasonable price. When the movers showed up they first tried to get me to sign a bunch of papers, i asked them if the estimate was going to increase before I signed the papers. He at first said, we will discuss that later, and then after i asked again explained that they had estimated me for 327 cubic feet of space on the truck and that it would actually take 1,00. That was a difference of $3,000 and then packing supplies at $600. I frantically called James and he was unavailable. I spoke to his boss Goldie and agreed with her that I wold pack the materials according to their guidelines myself and that they would put only the listed items on the truck and that we would negotiate the items left if there were any. When I told the foreman what she and I had agreed, and then Goldie reaffirmed, Joe (foreman) started yelling at me. He said that "he would be there all day waiting on me to pack that stuff up" and that he was not putting it on the truck. After having been shocked by the price increase and being yelled at by the foreman, and having Goldie make me aware of a $350 cancellation fee I was never told about, I asked them to leave. Now, my stuff is still sitting in my storage unit and I have to start al over. I have moved several times and never had anything like this happen. Goldie and the foreman both said that it was my fault that I was not candid about the items that were to be moved. However, I told James that my storage unit was full and he estimated it, "using what they call a precise computer system" at 327 cubic feet but that was my fault. Also, beware that when you say you have a bed with head board and rails, and then they input 1 bed on the items list for the estimate, they mean that they will only move the rails and the mattress, and even if you made the estimator aware that you had a headboard it is your fault. It was a truly unbelievable and unfortunate moving experience. Please don't put yourself through this!
