I had a very bad experience with Amerisave. This mortgage banker advertises low rates on the internet and are very quick to have a convincing sales person answer your initial chat request or a phone call. Once you apply, all the communication stops.
This company demanded excessive documentation and ordered appraisal, only to not even look at the initial application for more than 30 days. Finally they declined the mortgage. I would not be mad about not being extended the credit but it is impossible to get through to anyone at this organization.
The original sales person and processor don't return any phone calls and messages, and they refuse to allow you to escalate the issue. I have repeatedly called, left messages, sent emails, and every time they promise something they don't deliver. Appraisals should not be ordered as an unnecessary service and charged to people who don't meet their criteria.
The unethical part is where the sales person misleads you into the process, knowingly orders an expensive service while they know you will not qualify, and then fails to extend even a basic courtesy to return a phone call or a message. At another occasion a sales representative says they are just doing the most they can to profit the company.
I will be filing complaints with regulatory bodies, as well as Better Business Bureau, and will not give up on requesting this appraisal fee back. This organization violated 2 regulations: it took more than 30 days to receive a credit denial, and they charged a fee for a product/service (appraisal) without even issuing a commitment letter.
Terrible experience, honestly worst experience and worst customer service I have ever experienced. They ripped me off for approximately $400. I have received nothing in exchange.
