My name is Tommy and I am an elderly man and I was asked by my grand daughter to co-sign a contract for Anytime Fitness in Elizabethton, TN.  After review of the contract, I decided to sign the 12 month financial obligation in order to improve the health of my family member.  The start of the contract was 1/2017 and the contractual obligation was to end in 12/2017.  In december of 2017, I showed up at Anytime Fitness to make sure I was not going to be charged any longer on my card and was assured that my financial obligation was over.  As expected, in January of 2018, there was no charge to my credit card by Anytime Fitness.  To my surprise, Anytime fitness charged my card in February for 2/2018 and 3/2018.  I called down there and spoke to a young lady and she told me that I would have to deal with the owner.  I had my nephew call and talk to the owner, Brent after he spoke with a young lady, Taylor.  I had him try to explain to the owner that my financial obligation ended in 12/2017 and that  would explain how my card was not charged in January of 2018, as it was not supposed to be.  The owner claims that the contract is on a month-to-month basis after the initial 12 months, but my financial obligation as the co-signer of the contract expired after 12 months and he claims that he has the right to charge my card for months at a time and refuses to refund money he was not legally allowed to charge.  My credit card company is going to refund my money, but I want all you locals out there to be advised that the owner, Brent, appears to be about his pocket and not the community and their health...nobody has the right to take someone's money without permission.   I re-read the contract and the month-to-month extention gives the gym owner the ability to retain the gym member on a monthly basis without a contract...it does not give him permission to keep charging my card after the expiration of my contract.  I also have my receipts from all 12 payments and my charge card statement to show you but for some reason it will not upload.  Is there a way for me email them to you or a phone number I can send them to via sms?  These photos in Jpeg will not upload for some reson.  Attached is the print out from Anytime fitness showing the payments and when they were made since the inital payment in 1/2017 to the final payment in 12/2017.
