These guys at APEX are a joke. It was such a "boiler room" operation that I can't even begin to describe. I had read about Apex on Ripoff. com before I took the job, but I figure that I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Boy was I a fool!  Not only were the appointments/leads that they set for you a joke, they screwed me over on  my commission, so basically I went out and spent my gas money, printed up my own business cards, made my own copies of the application, and they paid me some bullshit amount. They told me that the minimum you would make on a call is $200, then it got changed to $100. If you signed someone up you were suppose to get paid $200, but if they got a loaner machine then that would be a deduction of $100, and then if they had to discount any rate, then that would be another $100 deduction = ZERO commission. I asked them that they really expected people to go on calls and spend gas money and time, make the sale, and end up with no commission except an account for the company, and they actually had the nerve to tell me yes, that there are reps out there doing that. What a bunch of LIARS! If they truely have reps going out and getting business for them for no pay then they are a bunch of MORONS who deserve to get screwed by APEX. But i don't believe a word they say. They even told me to tell a merchant not to mention that they were going to get charged $395 to get out of their contract early - they told me never to tell the merchant this amount. What a crock of s**t! If they don't care about their reps, they certainly don't care about their customers. I'm sorry I even got a couple of people signed up. Everything they said in our 5 hour training class did nothing for us in the field. They did not show us anything about the product except they wanted us to hard sell the merchant and get the hell out. Please be smarter than me, I read the Ripoff.com and gave them the benefit of the doubt, don't make the same mistake that I did. These guys need to be shut down not only for their business practices, but their bullshit lies about the commission we are to earn. What they say and what was actually paid is not the same. If you work on a call for them for 3 weeks and get them the account and expect to get paid $200, but only get paid $50, then they would not tell me for 2 days why I only got $50 instead of $200. They knew right away, but they are out to screw the rep and the merchant. I reported them to the BBB, but hundreds of others already beat me to the punch! DO NOT ACCEPT THIS JOB OR DO BUSINESS WITH THEM THEY ARE A BOILER ROOM OPERATION OF SCAMMERS!!!!

WHY I OUIT APEX TODAY!!!

AUTHOR: g-money - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 10, 2010

I am writing this because everything he has said is true and I just wnated  to give my reasons for leaving this Scam called Apex Merchant Group.

1) Everything this guy mentioned above!!

2) Appointments were crap. I only met with one owner (today) and he thought it was his own company sending a rep out, not a competing company.

3) My support staff Bobby Fentenant, wanted me to fax a statement to him. I tried 4 times to fax and they never recieved it. This makes me wonder what kind of an operation can't recieve faxes, when you need to fax them the statement to work up the deal...TO GET THE DEAL DONE. He wanted me to call his current company to pretend that I was a manager to get the information  we needed from the statement  when the fax didn't go through.

4) They had me drive all around and when I complained, they said they would "tighten up the area" and it would take another 2 days. They never did it and I would waste my time and gas.

5) You can never plan your day with this company because they give you one lead at a time. They also don't want you to call the lead before you go to see if the merchant is even available or you will be fired.  After you run the lead and they have talked to the owner or employee to validate that you were there, they would then give you your next lead. So they just want you to blindfully and wastefully drive to these appointments that might be 20 miles apart.

6) I was suppose to get the phone number of a "new" rep from Miami who supposedly sold their very first appointment to help with my "negative attitude" and prove this was a great opportunity. Bobby never gave me the number even though I asked him numerous times.

7) They try very hard to pressure the client and no matter what the merchant has to say or do, they are overly aggressive and rude. Later they talk real bed about the merchant if they don't do business with you.

8) Their information and disk is impressive and if the unit does what it says it does, it could be good for the merchant...as for me I will never know because I know now first hand that this company is full of whale crap!!

9) The marketing dept. always had the wrong name, address, owner name, ect. on the leads. You had to figure out where you needed to go.

10) No ongoing training provided. no conference calls, webinars ect. The only training is provided by the support staff or what you can get out of the initial 5 hour training.

There you have it. My reasons why in less than a week of em"ploy"ment, I have decided this is a rip-off and you should really think twice (3,4,5, or more) times before joining this company.

Hey Mike - Are you still having a postive experience?

AUTHOR: Kelley - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, November 08, 2010

Hello Mike:

I read, with interest, your experience with Apex.  It's been almost a couple of months and I have a few questions for you.

I am training this Thursday.

How are things going?  Are you able to help out merchants and make $$?

Thanks in advance!

Get a clue!!

AUTHOR: Mike - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 23, 2010

LOL, I find this very funny.

I too am an employee of APEX and I know Bill Dales and he does not have to drum up businees on this website.  He backs up his statements with his name and number because he is not  "COWARD".

The initial training that we are put through with APEX explains to you that your commision will be lowered if you have to lower rates to get business.  I do well with APEX and I have had nothing but excellent support from my sales team.

To do well in this businees you need to have a positive attitude, work hard and believe in your product.

I am given between 4-8 succesfull leads everyday, if I can't close the deals when I get in front of a merchant, it is not because of the product.  I take full responsibilty for not getting the deal completed.  APEX has a great product at a fair competitive price.  On average I close any where from 4-6 deals a week.

In respect to the cancelation fees or terms of the agreement,  I have never been told by any one to hide or not mention these terms.  APEX has nothing to hide and I invite my customers to look over the contract befre they sign it.

From what I see in these employment reviews is that the person had the inability to complete a sale so they try to blame it on someone else, instead of admittng that they are unable to make a good first impression and get a merchants business.  People buy from people they like!!

Be a man and take responsibility for your own actions, if you fail, it is your own fault.

My name is Mike I and my number is (((Redacted)))

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Response to #1

AUTHOR: John - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, April 30, 2010

I find this person's posts particularly offensive for two reasons:

1. As is evident from this report and others on Apex, this person basically insults anyone who complains about Apex and effectively calls them a liar

2. With almost every comment he makes, he posts his own phone number - it strikes me that he is completely abusing Ripoff Report by using it as a means to try to drum up business!

I concur

Although I have no personal experience of their commission pay-outs, my experience mirrors yours in 3 respects:

1. Like you I had to print a lot of my own forms and my business cards

2. I'd also agree that the 5 hour training, while informative, proved next to useless in the field

3. Last but not least, I wasted a lot of time and money chasing "leads" which proved to be completely bogus.
