Appliance Guy sold disgusting appliances to my children, charged more money than quoted on the telephone, refused to call back when asked to return phone calls. Cloverdale Indiana

Our air conditioner was stolen and when I contacted a repair man I was quoted about $5,500 for the air conditioner because it is set up with the furnace. I made arrangements to install it next year at tax time.

 

I needed air conditioning window units or floor units for my 1,800 square foot home because it is very hot and I need an affordable way to do it until tax time.

 

I discussed this with a good friend, I was told to utilize this store, Appliance Guy in Cloverdale, Indiana, by a good friend. I work in Indianapolis so I sent my children over after school let out and instructed them on what to do and gave them the credit card. The kids are 16 and able to drive to the store, it is 10 miles from my home, after discussing with the phone attendant at Appliance Guy, Cloverdale, Indiana, what was needed, the kids went to the store. We needed an air conditioner and a refrigerator. I was quoted $75.00 for the air conditioner, and $150.00 for the refrigerator. When the children got there, they were told they needed to pay $100.00 for the air conditioner and $200.00 for the refrigerator. The air conditioner is a 2,000 BTU air conditioner with no working flaps, so when it is inserted into the window, there are "no sides to it". These have to be ordered from the manufacturer. It is currently in the window with no sides, we have to order this from the manufacturer, instead, we have to use tape.

 

The refrigerator, although it does work, is terribly scratched up and banged up. No effort was made to cover up the missing paint or get rid of the bang marks on the refrigerator.

 

The refrigerator also stands up crooked.

 

I was told about this and the kids were upset, they said that they were treated with disrespect by the store personnel, it was like they were trying to get more and more money out of them.

 

I called the store after hearing about this on my way home to inspect the merchandise. That was 2 days ago. I mentioned on the phone that I still needed more appliances and would like to see about getting a package deal put together. I also mentioned my concerns about the merchandise, but this was before I actually saw it with my own eyes.

 

Now that I have seen it with my own eyes and comparison shopped, I would recommend to anyone to look somewhere else before going to Appliance Guy in Cloverdale. Many times, you can find better deals at Wal-Mart online on in the store, Craig's list, or some other place.

 

I have not been in the store, but from what I can tell, this is not a reputable business.

She has still not brought Refrigerator back.After reading her ad She only bought one ac unit to cool a 1800 sq ft house at time of purchase that info was not given to us and ac unit she bought was a 8,000 btu Retails for $200 is still works fine but buying one ac unit to cool a big area she would of needed two maybe even three ac units.Again the ac unit works fine. This customer has not worked with us since day one we told her everything is on warranty if she wanted to bring items back for service or exchange since she wasnt happen with the condition we always give three day exchange with every purchase if customer dont like the way a washer works or cleans there clothes.. We are on Angieslist for a reason This customer was upset at the appliances her people picked out....................

 When Customer ask questions over the phone appliance prices start at $75 on up Customer in the store changed mind and wanted a different ac unit. Item was tested in store plus warranty given. Someone else bought and paid for items so Customer didnt see items until they delivered them to her house.We have over 250 Appliances to choose from some new most used.We dont choose what appliances people buy They saw items working before they left they saw all marks if any were on them.They laid Refrigerator down on side after we told them not to could damage unit. They brought back ac unit and it was tested and works fine. They have yet to bring back Refrigerator. Customer is complaining when units still work and was under warranty.Was told our business hours are 10 am 6 pm Wednesday thru Saturday. This customer has choose not to work with us and Just stir up trouble when there is no need.We have left several voice mails and it is up to the customer to bring back refrigerator during warranty If the function of the units needed fixed but ac unit works fine.  Thanks Appliance Guy

We have a no cash refund policy Warranty or exchanged if needed Credit card company without us knowing has already gave customer back $$ in which in this letter shes says Refrigerator she still has and still works so is this consider stealing??????

3 Days Later the Appliances Quit Working Completely

Hello:

I am writing back to let everyone know that three (3) days after purchasing the appliances, they completely quit working. Right now we are in the process of returning them and filing a dispute with the bank over the credit card transactions. Not happy. Would not recommend Appliance Guy. I think you'd have better luck on Craig's List or Wal-Mart.
