Ripoff Report Verified REVIEW:

EDitors UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to APX Alarm for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Reports discussions with the company have uncovered an ongoing commitment to total customer satisfaction. You can expect to have any questions or concerns that you have with them to be answered and resolved in a timely manner. They have shown us their customer service process, and it reflects a desire to serve customers, as well as fix problems.

The company's management specifically told us about how their job is to simplify lives and help people to live intelligently. The management really wants every person who buys a system to feel valued. The concern for each customer's experience starts at the top, and is reflected in the action of every employee they hire.

The company also works to monitor their sales and customer support calls to see how they can be improved. They use these calls as examples for employees in training. Currently, Vivint is working to make changes to their contracts to make things easier for their customers as they have found that many of their complaints stem from feeling misled or customers paid fees they did not feel they authorized.

APX Alarm Bald Faced Liars Provo Utah

Ignoring my "No Soliciting" sign on my front door, the two solicitors assured me "Don't worry, we're not selling anything." That was the lie. They said they had been doing business with our neighbors and wanted establish credibility in our area. The guy said APX wanted to give me a free alarm system and our home was chosen as an "advertising home". All we had to do was display a APX Alarm sign in our yard.

I had some security concerns so I let them come in to get more information. He showed me this photo of all manner of security equipment. Smoke alarms, motion detectors, etc, etc. He spoke of getting me glass breaking sensors and alarms for all our windows and the sliding glass door and alarm sensors for our entry and garage door.

He was very good at his job. I've declared numerous times that I will never buy from a door to door or phone solicitor even if I need what they are selling (Just on principal). But before I knew it I had agreed to the seemingly insignificant dollar a day monitoring fee. Which actually came out to $39.00 a month, which then became $44.95 a month because I had a VOIP phone. They had installers out within 2 hours and ended up installing a keypad and 3 entry door sensors in the house and garage. They also gave me a couple of remote controls. When I asked about a montion detector he said it is normally $200.00 but if I had it put in while he was there it would only be $100.00.

When it was all said and done I had entered into a 60 month contract agreeing to pay $2999.40 over that period of time and I only had 3 days to change my mind.

I did some research and found that I could have purchased a superior system with many more features for about $130.00 (the solicitor told me the system they gave me was worth over $900.00. Another lie.) When I check on monitoring services, I was literally unable to find anyone who charged as much as $44.95 a month. $25 - $30 a month was generally considered to be outrageous. There were many alarm monitoring services as low as $9.00 to $14.00 a month. I could only conclude that $44.95 a month for monitoring services is BEYOND OUTRAGEOUS.

The bottom line is; They offered me something for free that would have ended up costing me a great deal more than if I had decided to actually purchase the system and service elsewhere.

Oh, and they never did leave me one of those "advertising" signs for my yard. I was able to fax in my cancellation in time. They called and tried to talk me out of cancelling and assured me they would refund my first $44.95 payment. They made an appointment to have a tech come out and retrieve the system, which will take about a week.

When / if my refund is credited back to my account I will leave an update.

More Lies From APX Alarm

AUTHOR: Russell - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 14, 2008

Well the 7 to 10 days I was told it would take for a refund have turned into a month now. Everytime I call I just hear how my "refund has been approved." I had a feeling it was a mistake to allow them to come and retrieve the equipment before I got my money back.
A company that needs to deceive people in order to make a sale can't possibly be offering anything worthwhile. Worthwhile products and services sell themselves. I suppose it could be worse. I could have got locked into that 60 month, $3000.00 contract (that they slip into their "free" alarm system offer).

#2 Consumer Suggestion

I'm Glad

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 24, 2007

I'm glad the sign did what it was suppose to do. Keep solicitors away from your house and keep them from selling you anything. I have a "beware of dog sign". Patches has bitten 4 guys who didn't pay attention to that sign and came on my property unannounced and unauthorized. Good dog. This country boy can survive. Maybe you ought to change signs.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Are you for real?

AUTHOR: Thekorean - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 24, 2007

Sir,

First of all, congrats on initiating and concluding a business transaction. I am glad to see that you actually put some work into research and found out that the Apx deal wasn't the deal for you. So why are you complaining?

It sounds like Apx held thier end of the deal up, install a system for you. You cancelled and everything went back to status quo before you met Apx.

Consumers such as yourself are a joke. I got a bad haircut, they paid for it, should I complain and say that they "promised" a good haircut (lie) and should I continue to bad mouth them as if they really had done irrepairable harm? NO!

Like I said, Congrats on doing business, good job on doing the research. Now get over it.

The industry will do over a quarter million accounts this year that stick. People are well pleased and beyond satisfied.

PS Your "no soliciting" sign, obviously didn't mean much to you considering you bought from the guy. No body wants to get "sold" on anything, but if someone has something you can use, you will get it.
