I am writing to report this company because they are a complete ripoff and stole my money.

I purchased a motor from them that was suppose to be in excellent condition. When my mechanic began to install it he discovered both valve covers were for the left side of the engine. I guess that should have been a clue that the engine wasn't perfect but he fixed the problem and continued to install the engine.

After the engine was installed we had a terrible time getting it started but finally when it started there was water running out of the side of the engine. The mechanic looked at it and said the head gasket was blown. We shut the engine off immediately. When I called ASAP Motors they said it was no problem and they would send a truck to pick up the engine and give me a full refund.

They finally picked the engine up and after waiting several days I finally called them and was told they would not refund any money because the engine had been overheated and that is why the head gasket was blown. Now I am out over $1,000 and still don't have an engine for my pickup.

Their attitude is that's my tough luck. This engine should not have been sold in the first place. They just stole my money.

Addressing a Case of Customer Abuse

AUTHOR: Dina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 16, 2004

We have had a recorded conversation with Mr. Robbie Chandler in regards to this complaint, this customer returned a motor to ASAP more than a month after purchase the motor had been overheated and he removed the heat tabs in an attempt to cover that fact up.

On the recording the customer admits to overheating the unit and ask us to fix it and refund the balance, we stand behind everything we sell however we are unable to supply a customer with a refund or a new motor once they abuse it or overheat it.

Also Mr. Chandler paid ASAP Motors $695 for the motor not $1000.
