I am a young college student who had their credit card stolen. I then did all the things I supposed to. I filed a police report, called the company, the whole nine yards. Well, we couldn't prove that it was stolen said the credit card company, Citi Bank, so they filed a report against me with, ARS. We then recieved a settlement statement and we agreed to settle with a $1200 payment. We thought everything was taken care of, no phone calls, no letters, nothing came excpet a payment confirmation letter. Now 2 months later a woman named Rebecca from this company is calling my work place and has been told not to, and asking for $700 more dollars and saying that there is no record of a settlement. SHe is now threatening my work and calling from personal phone numbers. This is more than a ripoff report this is a harrassment.

ARS and Citibank

Citibank was hacked into a 2 to 3 years ago. I called and checked to make sure my account wasn't compromised. They guaranteed me it wasn't- guess what, it was and I'll probably have to change my SS number as ID theft occurred. Citibank needs to remedy this and call in the ARS. It's pretty sad when you trust someone with your info and they abuse it.

Please call ARS and find out if you can recieve a release letter for the settlement that you made. Somtimes in transmission of the file back to the creditor, things arent correct. If ARS can provide you a release letter simply submit that to other collection agency as proof of settlement.
