I purchasd an ASUS Router at Fry's which included a $10.00 rebate.   I filled out the paperwork, which

included instruction to attach "original UPC/Serial Number Barcode Label".

I carefullly cut out the barcode from the original product container and submitted.  It was rejected

as "insufficient" as the barcode I submitted was not the barcode they wanted.    This was my first and last

ASUS purchase and I will do anything I can to  dissuade anyone  from purchasing ASUS products.

What a bunch of chiselers!

Money!!

Hey when you are dealing with MONEY you need to expect these sort of issues. Ok so you sent the wrong one, send the right one and get your ten bucks. Its not THAT difficult. To bash them because YOU sent the wrong UPC is really kind shitty on your part. YOU are bashing THEM for a mistake YOU made. Its not unethical or illegal for them to request specific information from you, especially when the issue is money. The reason they want a specific item is that they dont know if you are just yet another American Conscammer. They dont know that you actually purchased the item. Yes you can send a reciept, yes you can send A barcode. But thats all something you can find in someones trash. So they HAVE to ensure that the correct person is getting this rebate.

Besides that ASUS makes a pretty decent router. You can complain all you like but THEY did not send in the correct information, that was on you. Try and send them the correct info and move on.

You need to ask yourself a serious question here......Would you JUST had out 10$ to EVERY person who asked? When you add up how many routers are sold in one day there are potentially THOUSANDS of people looking for that 10$. So just try and send them the correct information.

If YOU wouldnt do it , WHY would they?
