My husband and I hired Atlas Van Lines to move us from Atlanta, Ga to The Villages, Fl.  Supposedly one of the best in the world. The moving men loaded our possessions onto the tractor trailer. Everything was to be stored in their warehouse until we built our house in Florida. Which took about 5 months.

When the time came to receive our things in Florida, they moved everything so fast into the house and garage, we couldn't keep up. It was hot outside, I guess they were in a hurry. When I went to unpack some items, many valuable, many were broken and many, many things were missing. I had an antique harp table that was broken in half on purpose. I received it wrapped in two pieces of wrapping paper. It was a one piece table.   Lamps, dishes, collectables, clothes broken and stolen.  Imagine my shock and fury. We are missing alot of our possessions and they say they can't find them. They say they have looked in their warehouse. I don't believe it for a minute. Thieves and liars.

I had 3 pieces of jewelry that I put in a box with my bathroom items. I told the woman who was an employee of Atlas, who was helping me pack, that I was going to take it myself in my car.  In the confusion of the move, it suddenly wasn't there.  I didn't notice until I got to Florida later in the day, that I didn't have it. I believe she put it in her car.  Which was parked near the moving van. I was hoping that it got put on the truck.  It wasn't. Again, it was stolen. The bracelets were worth about $8,000. total.  They were heirlooms from my mother.  I called them several times at the warehouse in Atlanta and at the main offices in Evansville, Ind and of course they couldn't find our things and couldn't tell me how our possessions got lost.  One of the great mysteries of life, I guess..  Now, tell me, how could boxes and other items go from the house in Atlanta to the truck, to the warehouse to the house in Florida go missing?  All of it was , we were told, was  going to be stored in a huge container like thing. Stolen by their employees, thats how.

I called the cops and called our attorney in Atlanta. We would have had to go to small claims court to deal with these thieving bastards.  It would have cost us seveal thousand dollars to file a claim.  We finally had to settle for a little over Two thousand dollars.  Disgusting!!!!

My advice to all of you, don't use Atlas Van Lines. They will steal your things and lie to you about it!!!!!
