Automotive Diagnostic Center I had them replace the fuel pump in my truck. The bill seemed very high. After some research, I discovered that they doubled the price of the fuel pump for their own gain. Sells for $341.99, charged $697.98. Monroe Washington

I needed a new fuel pump in my 1997 GMC Jimmy. I was told it would be ready to take home in 2 days with an estimated cost of $800 for the pump and an oxygen sensor, plus labor.
When I arrived to pick it up ( I had already turned in my rental car) my Jimmy was still on the rack, and would not be finished for another 24 hours. They didn't bother to call me to tell me this. I rented another car, and returned the following morning to pick up the Jimmy. The bill had been increased to $1,450 without my knowledge or approval.
When I asked what the increase was for, they replied, "parts are expensive." I paid the bill and left. I called every auto part store in town to discover that a fuel pump for this vehicle sells for $341.99 (and that is without the discount mechanics receive on parts). Automotive Diagnostic Center charged me double, a whopping $697.98. When confronted, "Paul" refused to acknowledge or take any responsibility. Unfortunately this all happened two weeks before Christmas, wiping out all funds that I had. Every year I choose 3 children in need from a Giving Tree to buy gifts for. These children will not be receiving gifts from me because "Paul" at Automotive Diagnostic Center in Monroe, WA took every dime I had for the holidays.

The sad thing is John and Paul buys parts at autozone or shucks and charges for a factory dealer part. Lots of luck with a guarantee from them jerks too. I think they use a coin flip to diagnose car problems, giving the talented honest mechanics a bad reputation. Shame on you automotive diagnostic center, get out of town!

How much did you pay for labor? Of course the final bill was more than the part alone.

As a employee during the holiday season,Automotive Diagnostic Centers have: Excluded holiday pay from payroll checks, sent employees home without a reason, declined any holiday benefits, and withheld final paychecks. Stay away from all three stores!

The parts you buy from an automotive shop are always marked up. 50 -100% is not uncommon. It's one of the ways these shops make their money.
If you want to pay the Autozone price, you should be prepared to diagnose the problem yourself and remove/reinstall the part. I'm not trying to be sarcastic either, that's what I do.
