I installed their software and attempted to register.  Don't remember if it was successful.  (Might not have been.)  Later attempt to use generated an error, claiming I installed 2 copies, when I only installed one.

Calling the support number from the order confirmation, I was asked to give permission to access my computer.  Within minutes he's saying "Oh my! Your computer has been violated.  You need protection."  I told him I had Webroot and I was secure, but he immediately started his sales pitch and wouldn't let up.  He was a "Microsoft-certified provider" and would fix my computer for me.  Normally it's $295, but...  I told him clearly I only wanted him to fix my InPixio software that I had purchased and he said that he couldn't.  I said I needed to complain, and he gave me a form to fill out, which disappeared when I typed something negative.

I promptly disconnected from his support.com software.

One final time I asked: Can you do anything to give me access to the software I purchased.  He said no.

Do not purchase software from Avanquest software, or anything branded with InPixio.  These are incredibly questionable business practices.  I don't understand how they are in business.

Scammer emulated InPixio

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, October 27, 2016

I was apparently sold a bootleg copy of InPixio by a third party.  The company identifies itself with the phone number 877-689-3648, e-mail noreply@upclick.com and support-inpixio@softcity.com, and web address inpixio.upclk.com.

They refused to give me a refund on the grounds that I purchased it 4 months earlier.

I told them the software never worked.  I had registration problems and came back 4 months later.  I told them it was clear that this was a bootleg copy and I had to report them to my credit card if they couldn't refund me.  They refused.
