AWAI (American Writers Institute) This Is My Experience; Form Your Own Conclusion Delray Beach Florida

This was my experience with AWAI: Every piece of literature I ever received from them BEFORE I signed up said exactly the same thing: all I need is to take the course and I would become a 6-figure copywriter. Began taking the course. Tool the first test; did not get flying colors; OK, I can live with that. Constructive criticism is good.

I signed up for their mailings. Every day I would get at least one more offer: order this book; it would turn me into a world-class copywriter. Take this OTHER course; it would do the same thing. Go to their Boot Camp; THEN I would be successful. Of course, since I was already an active student, they always offered me a whopping discount. But it was still a lot of money...ESPECIALLY since their initial mailings always promised that the course I was taking was actually all I really needed.

At some point I became very disheartened and actually called them with this concern. They gave me a lot of tap-dancing double-talk that said, in a nutshell: yes, we did tell you this is all you need, but if you REALLY want to be successful, take some more courses!

I came to the conclusion that their very best copywriting is done on their own emails to their existing students. The emails are incredibly convincing. The people who write them are very, very good copywriters. There is no doubt in my mind, that if I stooped to their methods, I would have a definite future right there in their company.

Just one problem...my personal ethics prevent me from lying, or stretching the truth, to make a living. Even if it does net me $100,000 a year. Even if it nets MORE.

So, if lying isn't a problem to you...yes, you will be a successful copywriter.

I abandoned the course.
