My experience with axia/phoenix was especially insulting and painful for me. I had been considering psychiatry for some time, and while looking for schools on the internet I came across their site. It seemed like a dream come true. My husband and I had paid off our first house and with me in college I felt our future would only get brighter.

At first it was easy. The people were nice and helpful and I got my FAFSA set up in no time. While waiting to begin classes the problem first started. The financial department had me fill out numerous copies of the same forms over and over again, all the while costing me $2.00 a sheet to fax it to them. At this point I figured this was normal. Along the way my admissions counselor was seemingly helping me out.

After awhile it only got tougher for me. While I was filling out and sending then re-filling out and re-sending forms my adviser was constantly goading me about contacting the financial department. For about two weeks I was getting it from both barrels about the financial side of things. Already I was getting worried about the way things were looking. But I soldiered on and got things lined up to start class. After yet one more form resending I started classes.

The classes seemed all too easy. After a few discussion questions I received my first big project assignment which involved an odd question about an office building and services for it. The assignment was murky and seemed to be avoiding actually telling me what to do. I tried to e-mail and call my teacher and advisor, but received no answer at all. Then in the middle of all of this the financial department starts hassling me about my spouses income, trying to make me send in a form for the 5th time! Needless to say after so much time dealing with this I was fed up.

Further attempts to contact anyone at all at the college proved impossible. I have still received no mail from anyone. After all of this hassle and muddling through murky assignments that seemed to be thinly veiled market research questions I withdrew myself from the program altogether. I'm currently transferring to a local women's college that is willing to work with me. Now it turns out that phoenix is trying to get 2,000 dollars out of me for the scant three days I was in their so called "classes."

I'm extremely upset and angered by the staff of phoenix and axia. All of their focus was on giving me the runaround while trying to milk all the money out of me they could. I'm glad this site is here to warn anyone thinking of going there about their flimsy and fraudulent practices. I'm just glad I started the transfer before FAFSA had sent them any money.
