Barkworks dishonest with dog sales Riverside California

I purchased a puppy from Barworks in June of 2008. The dog had a lazy eye which watered quite a bit. As a puppy it was cute. I was told empahatically that these puppies were NOT from puppy mills, I later found research to know that this is not true. I was also told that this puppy was an AKC registered dog, (chihuahua) and that I should received my papers in 90 days. That was 7 months ago.

My dog was sick when we brought him home, so we took him for their free vet check-up. He was diagnosed with an upper respitory infection and was given medication. The doctor did not mention the problem with his eye.

It took about 1 month for this poor puppy to get better, but another issue surfaced. The ill draining eye turned out to be a condition called "cherry eye". Which is corrected only my surgery. When I went back to the store about a month or so later to let them know this, they stated that they would take care of it, if the doctor said that it was genetic. Seeing that this is uncommon in chihuahua's, he must be up-bread with another breed. I suspect terrier, (he has wide jaw bones like a terrier and a long body like a dauctcy.
When I provided them the documentatiom that they required. They told me that it was not good enough and that even though I went through more trouble obtaining another document, the corporate office may not cover the condition. I had to pay to get this condition taken care of out of pocket.

I then went back to them in November and asked where were my AKC papers, they gave me a date that they were mailed, but I let them know that I never received them. They claimed they would order duplicates. I always get this smug, response and put off when I go into the store. I guess I could run off potential "victims", if they don't keep me quiet. Needless to say, I never received the duplicate either.

This company is a front for a puppy mill and are ripping off people left and right for the amount that they charge for these substandard dogs. Something needs to be done.
