Dear Attorney General

At the urging of Mr. Stan Macklin, of the District of Columbia Consumer Products Division, I am writing to you for assistance in recovering monies which were refunded to me from the Bay Area Business Council (BABC), whose check bounced, insufficient funds, once deposited into my account.

On June 24, 2002, I wrote a letter to Mr. Peter J. Porcelli, II, CEO, BABC regarding my refund approval letter received July 10, 2002 with specifications of me sending back to them everything I received from them and a bank statement showing the withdrawal amount of $184.90. I included everything as said. I received back from them regular mail a check drawn from the First National Bank of Florida for $154.90. This amount is not what was withdrawn from my account initially. I was going to let that go because they did say in their correspondence I would be charged a handling fee for the postage and handling of said refund.

On August 26, 2002 I received a letter from my credit union share draft coordinator indicating a returned deposit item of $159.90 and fee of $10.00.

I am enclosing with this correspondence to you copies of the correspondence regarding my refund from BABC and correspondence from my bank. If you need more information or would like to discuss this further, please write or call using the above information.
