My husband and I responded to the second interview with BH - they even had a questionaire for me to fill out asking about my concerns in regards to his job search, where I expected him to be in three years, his strenths and weaknesses. We were curious as to why they would ask me to come to the interview that would "accept" him into their elite client membership, and assumed that it would be for the opportunity to get us to sign on the dotted line without my husband having to leave the office with the excuse of needing to discuss it with me.

We went to the meeting with the impression that we would be getting a hard sell speech and had no intention of signing anything until we had discussed it further. BUT - my husband has been searching for a job for months and the Houston job market is tough right now...so we were willing to listen to anyone.

We listened to the song and dance while the VP told us about why BH could help him find a job. We were invited to answer questions throughout the interview, but did not get much opportunity, as the conversation was virtually one sided and their were no pauses. Actually, I was trying to find an opportunity to interrupt so I could use the restroom and had none.

After the discussion, I was asked if I thought my husband was a good candidate for BH. OF course, I thought he was. After a pause, my husband was welcomed aboard and without ANY Hesitation, the contract was out and he was up to go schedule my Husband with a counselor.

Well, I had to "go", and I went, and my husband and I took the opportunity to leave the room and get a moment to talk together in the hallway. We did agree that he would not sign anything that day - but were fully convinced that BH could help him in his job search. Another contract and a pen were waiting for him and a calm and disarming discussion became hurried. WHen my husband said he would like to think about it, the VP was understanding but told him to call the next day because they could not hold his "spot" longer than Friday and he would have to e-mail corporate and let them know. (what??)

We were excited about the potential networking opportunities. We were not impressed with his sell, because we were familiar with the psychological tests they use. We are both well educated professionals, but vulnerable and concerned about the job market and were looking for an edge - and willing to spend the money to do it (over 10,000 when it was all said and done).

But later, we thought about the questions that we did not think about and were not answered: What companies approach you for clients? Do you have a list of clients and where have they gained employment (my husband's old company that laid him off provides them with a career counseling service and they have a newsletter that provides this info) Who sets up the interviews and is there and average amount of interviews he can expect per month?

Then we found this website - we are going it on our own and thank God for the information you all have provided.
