Heard one of those ads today here in town. Local car dealer had $3995 cars on "sale" for the credit challenged. It's sad but those are the cars he picks up on trade-ins, for free or for a couple of hundred dollars at most. They wash 'em and turn around and sell them for $3995. They try and get as much money down as they can and finance the rest. If they get $500 down, they're already ahead of the deal. They try and get 20 percent($800) at least and finance the rest. They could care less if anyone ever makes a payment. That's how they get away with saying they finance everyone. Heck, with 20 percent they've made $500 to $800, they repo the car and sell it again. And again. As for Heard, how much is it his fault he couldn't find a bank to finance you? Here's an idea, keep driving the truck, save up the money and buy, in cash, a newer and better vehicle.

Fran, the Bill Heard in Memphis Tn, sold my daughter a car when she could only show a part-time job check stub. Not sure how they thought she could afford a second hand vehicle. I (her mother) wrote a check for the $1,000 down payment, then the sales woman told my daughter and I to lie to the financing company when they call us (in the next day or so). Right then a red flag hit me. Needless-to-say, we gave the car back within 48 hours.

Those ads run here too. What they don't say (out loud at least) is that if you have terrible credit....you're stuck with a big down payment. I will never go back to them either.
