Yesterday I checked my bank account for miscellaneous fees because something seemed a little off kilter.  I discovered something called Blair Rewards had automatically deducted $1.95 on 2/14/12 and $14.95 each month in April, May
and June.  I called the listed phone number (866-405-7356), receiving an automated message which allowed me to cancel the program, and it gave me a long verification number read off so quickly I didn't get it all.  I then went
to the order form where you can click "email" to send a message.  I did this to request written confirmation of the number and the cancellation.

I have never heard of Blair Rewards so I checked my catalog's information pages but saw nothing about it.  I then called customer services (800-458-6057) and asked:  What is Blair Rewards and what prompts entry into the program?     A customer service representative told me that on-line orders bring up the offer to enroll.  On the order form you must click on the box to accept the offer, then enter your phone number.  Once enrolled you get a 30-day trial for $1.95 and receive a booklet detailing rewards which are price reductions for various things such as movies or restaurant meals.  After the first 30 days automatic monthly charges of $14.95 kick in.

I then went on line to read the order form.  There is no mention of Blair Rewards any where.  The only thing I noticed was a checked circle for signing up to receive e-mails or special offers and promotions; it must be unchecked to decline this offer and is easy to overlook at the bottom of the order form.  I hate getting vendor e-mails and would have never knowingly accepted this offer.  If this is how peole are secretly inducted into the Blair Rewards program, it is certainly a well-hidden scam.
