My partner and I were new to Canada last autumn and obviously needed a vehicle.
As we had no historical information on back street sales, we headed for the larger places, one being Blue Mountain Chrysler.
We found a 95 AWD Grand Voyager at a good price with all the bells and whistles and low mileage.
We took it for a spin, pointed out the faults and set up a warranty deal.
When the van was delivered, none of the faults had been attended to and in fact, the very same day, the rear window mechanism failed.
The van went back to the garage (under duress from us) to have SOME of the issues sorted.
Cutting a long story short, we bought the van in Oct and didnt get to drive it til Jan as it was always back and forth trying to get the issues sorted that we had wanted from day one.
Added to that, the customer liaisons were rude, unhelpful, liars, dis-interested and NEVER called us back. We always had to call them for news of progress.
The mechanics ALWAYS get the van dirty, scratch the paint, hit the mirrors on the hoists and so on and whenever we have anything done there, we ALWAYS are dissatisfied.
We love our van but we wish that it hadnt come from that place and we wish that we could never have to see the place again.
They are very two faced as we now know from friends who use their services.
Because we complained and demanded our rights, we now get the brush off which is also highly unprofessional.

Service Manager Dan from Blue Mountain Chrysler lied and cheated

On Friday May 31st I had called the parts department and spoken with Dan to purchase 4 rims for my summer tire with installation and also oil change. He quoted me $55 for rims and $16 for installation and $38 for oil change. He transferred me to Jenifer and she booked my appointment for June 5th 2013 at 1300hr.

On June 5th as I was busy I sent my wife with the van to be serviced.

At 12:40 she was taken in at around 1300 hr Dan gave her a different explanation about my talks with him on Friday. He made her sign a new quotation that I had not approved.

  1. He told my wife a lie that I had asked to place the new rims on winter tire (I never said that) and remove old rims from winter tire and place it on summer tire (I did not say that) with an oil change.

At 13:15 my wife could get hold of me on phone and explained me that Dan gave a higher estimate that was diffrent than that I had told her. I asked her to give me the breakup of what charges he had placed and came to know that he was performing work that I had not authorized him (2 times rim swap). I asked my wife to give the phone to Jenifer and she said that they are doing the work as per my wife's instruction ( This is a lie as Dan had falsely stated what I had instructed and made her sign the sheet)

I asked Jenifer to immediately stop the work and she said that the rims have been removed from winter tire and new rims have been installed upon them. I asked her to transfer me to the dealership owner and she cut my phone.

I again asked the receptionist to transfer me to the owner and after 40min of hold I spoke to a gentleman (I do not know if he was the owner) and explained him the problem and that I do not wish to proceed with the work that I did not order as

  1. I did not order new winter rims for my summer tire

  2. I did not order for installation of original rims from winter tire to summer tire

  3. I did not order for new rims to be installed upon the winter tire

I told him as I have lost the faith in Blue Mountain Chrysler I will proceed my new rims purchase and installation in Barrie Chrysler.

Upon hearing me he said that only the oil change charges will be claimed and no charges for the rim change from winter to summer tire will be charged as I did not order it.

After 10 min I again called the service department and spoke with Jenifer to see if she has removed the installation charges and she said that as the work had been done I have to pay the charges (I believe she does not respect the owners words or the person the receptionist had made me speak with was pretending to be the owner). I said to her that the work done on my van was not what I had asked for so she transferred me to Dan.

Dan said that he had suggested my wife for swap of original rims from winter to summer as they were expensive chrome wheels and not steel wheels (this was another lie as when my wife brought the vehicle back to home I checked they were regular black steel rims with plastic caps on them)

My wife and 7month baby had to wait their till 1530 ( I do not know why they kept her waiting for 2hr and 15min when they said to me at 13:15 that the rims were on and oil change was done). At the end my wife had to again get the bill corrected as they had placed different figures to steal more money.

Through the whole incidence I got an feeling that the Blue Mountain Chrysler is not a dealership to be trusted and the quality of staff in substandard. I would like to see Chrysler Canada to take firm action against such malpractice by dealership in stealing money from the customer by telling lies.  

My advice to everyone is to get their service quote in writing and do not believe anything they say on the phone as they are a bunch of lires and will try to swindle more when the vehicle is in the shop.
