Blue Yellow Book Aka Blueyellowbook.com Charges you $598.00 for product/service you did not authorize then plays back "edited" confirmation Aventura Florida

I was contacted by this company in july of 2008 to confirm my business address and telephone number. They made it sound like they worked for the popular YellowBook. They said all of my contact information and asked if it was correct, i said yes. At no point was I told that the call was being recorded.

A month later they called and explained that I had a past due balance with them for a webpage and online listing totaling $598.00. I explained that I have never heard of the BlueYellowBook and the person on the other line said that he could play back the authorization that I gave. After hearing the authorization I realized that they just pieced together the original recorded "yes" into a complete (clever i might add) authorization.

It is completely froadulent. In fact they never even said their correct business name during the original call. Omitting the "Blue" portion of their business name.

I told the member of their company that my normal business practices include only paying bills that were mailed to me. I like to have a physical record, call me old fashioned.

A few days later I received a paper bill from these scam artists. Surprisingly they cant even afford a laser printer, nevermind standard letterhead. I get a bill printed from an injet printer (the ink bled onto another portion of the paper after it was folded) straight from a Microsoft Word template.

I have since called the better business bureau that I am a member of and forwared all of the information to them. They will be filing a complaint on my behalf with the southease florida better business bureau as well as the Florida State attorneys general office.
