Blue Yellow Book Company called our business saying we owed them $699.00 for advertising that we did not authorized and we have never heard of company Internet

This company called our business on October 7th 2008, asking if we want to "renew" our "advertising with them" for "another two years", stating that it was an "automatic renewal" but if we wanted to discontinue, it would need to be verified by recorded authorization. Then they asked to verify our company name and address and phone number.

As the owner, my husband does not handle the advertising of our business, but he had never heard of them and knew that they were not an advertising company we did business with, and he told them he had never heard of them and absolutely did not want their services. They insisted he record this "confirmation". Then the rep told him that we "owed them" $699 for the past two years of service. When asked why he had never seen a bill from them before, the respresentative stated it was bacause "they don't send the bills out every month, they bill on a 24 months basis". My husband stated that he would like to have a paper bill sent for these so called services.

When I returned to the office, he informed me of the call. I confirmed that we did not do advertising with them and I had never heard of them. I tried to call the number that they called from that showed up on our caller ID, (which showed up as "Bank of America",) and the number was disconnected and no longer in service.

We are waiting for this fraudulent "bill" to arrive in the mail in order to use it to file a SCAM complaint with our state Attorney General's office.
