I visited the big Bass Pro Shop in the pyramid in Memphis in November of 2015. As I entered I was intercepted by a very pleasant man who welcomed me and gave me information about the layout of the store. I assumed he was a BPS employee. After a few minutes he eased into his salespitch and we spoke for around 20 minutes or so. To summarize my complaint, he told me that I would be staying at one of the beautiful resorts lsted in their glossy catalog, which I thought would be nice for a short anniversary trip with my wife. I wanted to be completely sure of what I was undersanding him to say, so I held up the catalog that we had been flipping through and repeated very clearly and directly that we would in fact be staying in one of the resorts shown here in this catalog. He replied "absolutely, whichever one you choose."

Several months later I called to schedule my stay and found out that this was not true, rather that I would be staying at an undisclosed location within a "reasonable driving distance" of the resort, and that I would only see the resort during the 2-3 hour sales presentation. The telemarketer was unable to give me any details whatsoever on where we would actually be housed.

To date I have made 3 requests to be refunded the balance of my $99 purchase. I received one extremely high-speed voice mail that came while I was working, but no one has contacted me since nor have they directly replied to any of my emails, though the delivery receipts have come back so I know they've been received and read.

Bottom line: Bluegreen Vacations uses dishonest sales tactics- and salespeople- to rip you off. DO NOT fall for the "luxurious 2 nights/3 days at this beautiful resort" salespitch; you may end up at some Notell Motel thirty miles away in the middle of nowhere, or worse.
