I thought I was calling into Massey Hall Box Office to purchase upcoming concert being held in Toronto, Ontario Canada in September.

The telephone operator stated that they were selling me the best ticket available and the best pricing.  Unfortunately I went onto there website within 1/2 hour of the call to find out I had been ripped off.  I paid $1500.00 for a single ticket for a ticket which was available on their website by a vendor for $421.00.

I called back twice they said I made the sale and all sales final.  No exchanges, refunds.  I have reached out several times to there customer service.  Very frightened I thought I was talking with legitimate Box Office (Massey Hall).  They were not willing to cancel the order even though I called back within 1/2 hour, no exchanges.

I called my credit card holder to notify of my concern.

In speaking with the manager, Sunday August 17, 2014 - he stated they do not have access to tickets on their own website?  This is very scary,  you are trusting a telephone customer service operator who to me sold me the most expensive ticket that was for sale.  There is a big difference between $421.00 and $1500.00.  Something does not make sense.  I feel ripped off and they made no effort in working with their customer.

This company frightens me in the way they handle their customers, the seller had not been paid, nor sent out the ticket.  They had plenty of time to make it right.  Called 4 times no success in making things right.

No refund, I have only to wait until Monday, and have AMEX dispute charge.  Again why is the phone number and the website not linked or accessed prior to making sale to customer.

I am very sad, angry and ripped off.  Thought I was talking with legitimate business.

If they have excessive chargebacks, they ultimately loose the privilege provided by the major creditors and their merchant account compnasy will drop them.

You've been Spec'ed.

Hi Ma'am,

I am sorry you got duped by this organization (and I use that term loosely).  The tickets they sold you is what they call a Spec. or Speculation.  This is because like the real box office informed you, these tickets are not available for sale as of yet.  They pretend to have access to "pre-sale" tickets, in which case the go to a broker owner resell site www.ticketspot.com to determine the "speculative" price broker/resellers will charge for those tickets and inflate that price to increase their marginand turn a profit, plus adding a service and delivery charge at the very end of the transaction before you have anytime to realize what all the fees add up to.  Not to mention that also never hold inventory and will actually utilize your very own funds to purchase the tickets when they become available.  This is why you were probably informed that you would receive those tickets about 2 weeks prior to the show.  Now when you called back and asked if the sale when through, well of course it did, they processed your card, however the right question to ask is if they have your tickets in possession and request the exact details of where you will be seated.  They will not be able to answer the last question, as they do not have possession of your tickets.  Now I am not sure when your event goes actually on sale and whether the tickets have been purchased already since the time of your post, but if they have not been received yet, I would call with your credit card compnay on the phone and ask the specific questions I just advised you of.  This may or may not provide a stronger leg to stand on and will then become your credit card company's decision as to how to proceed.  They will usually side with you and do what is called a chargeback (something the organization wahts to avoid like the plague because not only will they be responsible to you for the monies, but they are an affiliate company and will be required to pay them 125% of the price of the tickets).  If this doesn't work and you are still upset and really want to stick it to them, you can always file a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and your state's Attorney General's office and they will investigate if they get enough complaints.  The site for the FTC is www.ftc.gov.  Hope this helps.
