I ordered some new rotors from brake planet towards the end of April on a Sunday night. The order process was simple and straight forward and conveniently came with an order status page in the confirmation email which displayed common information such as order date, payment date and ship date. By Wednesday I was a little concerned that no ship date had appeared on my order status page so I began emailing customer service for an explanation. One email per day.

Friday evening I received a cookie cutter response about preparations to the rotors that would require 7-10 days. Despite the fact that the order form indicated the items were in-stock, I decided to be patient and wait. After 11 days I checked the status again and still no ship date. I emailed them to request they cancel my order and refund my money. No response for 2 days so I called. They had the audacity to tell me the product was in-stock, and that they could have it shipped that day! I declined and they agreed to refund my money within a few days.

Another 8 days went by and still no refund (via Paypal). Now when I call I either get hung up on or transferred to voicemail. Since I used Paypal, I will eventually get my money back as in the past they have been good about handling disputes, but meanwhile I'm out the cash and end up with nothing for the frustration. brakeplanet is a deadbeat vendor. Don't waste your time, and certainly not your money. It's a pretty simple concept: provide a service/product in exchange for payment. If you can't provide said service/product, don't offer.
