We refused insurance and all upgrades for a simple car rental. We opened the trunk the car reeked of cigarette smoke, lots of marks outside. Stained seats. The booth employees refused to come out of the booth. We had to drive up. One employee wrote scratches and marks all over car. We did very little driving, one tank of gas. We do not smoke, nor did we eat or drink in the car. We did have to clean the windows. 3 weeks later we were charged 265.00 CA. for detailed cleaning regarding smoke and stain damage in their non-smoking fleet. The manager that sent the letter refused to return calls or emails. A local Budget on York St. in London Ontario, refused any assistance. The 1-800 office number did have the manager make a return call. As it stands, we may receive a refund if the person handling the billing does a card reversal.?? Now we wait. Needless to say we will probably never rent a car ever again.
